Little Scotties Scoop
August 26, 2011
We have had a wonderful first week! We have such a great class are are gearing up for a busy school year. This week we have been practicing lots of basic things, like how to line up, and talking about basic responsibilities in the classroom. We practiced how to use markers and remembering where to put the lids, etc. We used play dough and dry erase markers. We have explored the different materials that may be in our sand and water table. On Friday, we worked on our invitations for our grandparents for Grandparent’s Day.
We read Clap Your Hands and From Head to Toe and played movement games that went along with the story. We read Doing the Animal Bop and wore animal tails to dance, or bop, like the animals in the story. After reading School Bus and The Wheels on the Bus, we talked about what we knew about buses and sang
the song The Wheels on the Bus. We read a book about grandparents and made our invitations. I will mail them out today. Thank you for sending in the addresses.
ATTENTION CAR RIDERS: Please see the letter in your child’s Bee Book regarding the dismissal procedure.
Don’t forget to sell that cookie dough! Earn money for our school! Make sure your child wears his/her frog necklace each day!
If you need you contact me, please email me at genelle.jones@glasgow.kyschools.us or call me at school, 659-0432 after 3:00. If you call at any other times during the school day, please leave a message with the school staff. Speaking to parents is always a priority, however my time when the children are at school is devoted to meeting their needs in the classroom. I will return your calls as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
