We are almost finished with our study of Jane Cabrera. A few students still have a little painting to do. Look in the note pouch of your child's Bee Book to see if your child need to wear old clothes on Monday. I'm hoping to get them all done Monday. We will be starting on a new illustrator next week.
Half the class worked on sculptures with wood scraps. The other half will be working on theirs on Monday. Once the wood glue dries, they will be painting them with washable paint! If any of you know someone who works in constuction, we would love to have some more wood scraps (no nails, pleased) for our art center. We are also going to be making things with toilet paper tubes and paper towel tubes so please save those at home and send them in!
Mark your calendars. The last day of preschool will be on Friday, May 27. Our preschool program will be on that day at 11:00!
After school care will be in Ms. Genelle's classroom next week.
Thank you to all the parents who helped to hide eggs for our hunt yesterday! Look at the video on the blog!
On Friday, April 29, a person from the Kentucky Repretory Theatre will be here to do an activity with our class. You are invited to join us and that will be our parent meeting for April. He will be in our classroom from 9:10-9:55. Please join us at 9:00 so we will be ready to start on time!
We will be watching a dress rehearsal of the play Fairy Tale Courtroom on Thursday. High school students will be coming to our classrooms to perform for us.
Our lunch time will be different next week due to testing with the older students. Our time will be 11:10 each day.
Keep practicing the popcorn letters or words with your child. Everything you need is in your child's Bee Book. We are now working on a new sight word each week. Several kids that are working on letters got a few more letters added. Please work on this at home to support what we are doing in the classroom. Popcorn words: the, and, you, for

On Fridays we will be sending nap blankets, etc., home so you can wash them and send them back each Monday. We are going to try keeping the water bottles at school during the week and send them home on Fridays as well.
If you need to contact me, please email me at genelle.jones@glasgow.kyschools.us or call me at school at 659-0432 after 1:00. If you call at any other times during the school day, please leave a message with the office staff. Speaking to parents is always a priority, however my time when the children are at school is devoted to meeting their needs in the classroom. I will return your calls as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
