This week we have started to study different illustrators. We are starting with Jane Cabrera. You can visit her website at http://www.janecabrera.co.uk/. Ms. Cabrera uses acrylic paint for her illustrations. Today we started on our background. We will continue to use the acrylic paint next week so wear old play clothes next week too!

We have continued working on our books in writer's workshop. The group that has been working on group books for the classroom will be starting individual list books about animals next week.

We have also been exploring magnets and see what items in our classroom are magnetic and which are not.

Please put your child's name in his/her coat! We have had several coats lost and it's harder for us to try to find it if there is no name in it.

A very big thank you goes out to all our families that went with us to Dinosaur World. We couldn't have done it without you.

I'll get the pictures and videos posted on the blog this weekend so be sure to look at the blog!

After school care will be in Ms. Kim's classroom next week.

Next Thursday will be our Easter Egg Hunt. Our hunt will be on the playground at 10:30. Each child needs to bring in at least 12 eggs filled with WRAPPED candy. NO loose candy! Each child will need to bring a basket to collect eggs in. Make sure your child's name is on his/her basket!

I hope that everyone had a chance to go by PBI Bank and see our art exhibit. We will be taking it down Monday afternoon.

On Friday, April 29, a person from the Kentucky Repretory Theatre will be here to do an activity with our class. You are invited to join us and that will be our parent meeting for April. We are still working on the schedule. I will have a time for you next week.

Our lunch time will be different for the next 2 weeks due to testing with the older students. On Monday, we will eat at 11:10. Tuesday thru Friday we will go to lunch at 11:40. The week of April 25-29 our time will be 11:10 each day.

Keep practicing the popcorn letters or words with your child. Everything you need is in your child's Bee Book. We are now working on a new sight word each week. Several kids that are working on letters got a few more letters added. Please work on this at home to support what we are doing in the classroom. Popcorn words: the, and, you

On Fridays we will be sending nap blankets, etc., home so you can wash them and send them back each Monday. We are going to try keeping the water bottles at school during the week and send them home on Fridays as well.
