Little Scotties Scoop

October 28, 2011

We read Pumpkin Jack and made predictions about what would happen to our class pumpkin when we left him outside. We will be taking pictures to document how he changes over time. We have also read the Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything and acted it out with props. We have made a storyboard to
retell the story. Your child should have brought it home today or yesterday. See if he/she can use it to retell the story. We read There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat and fed our old lady all the things that she ate.

We are in need of kid bandaids for our boo-boos. If you can send some in, that would be wonderful!

IMPORTANT... please put your child’s name in his/her coat. We have 4 coats that belong to someone in preschool that have no names and no child is recognizing them as his/her coat!

On Monday, October 31, we will be visiting Barren County Health Care and the Glasgow Board of Education to trick or treat. Your child will need to bring his/her costume to school. After breakfast, each child will put his/her costume on over their clothes. When we return to school, we will put the costumes
back in the backpacks. NO makeup or weapons are allowed. We will not be having a Halloween party in the classroom. This trick or treat trip will be our only Halloween activity.

When your child is eating his/her candy, please save about 10 candy wrappers and send in your child’s bee book. We will be using them for our small groups on Thursday and Friday next week.

If you need you contact me, please email me at genelle.jones@glasgow.kyschools.us or call me at school, 659-0432 between 1:00 and 2:00 or after 3:00. If you call at any other times during the school day, please leave a message with the school staff. Speaking to parents is always a priority, however my time when the children are at school is devoted to meeting their needs in the classroom. I will return your calls as soon as
possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
