Little Scotties Scoop

February 14, 2011

Last week we continued our study of dinosaurs. We made a list of what we know about dinosaurs and some questions we have. We will be looking a non-fiction dinosaur books and doing internet research to find out the answers to our questions. We decorated bags to put our Valentine cards in. Some students sorted valentine conversation hearts by color while others made cards to give to our 'valentine'.

This Thursday we will be going to visit Houchens Market at Southgate Plaza. Any parent wanting to help us out MUST have an approved background check on file. Contact Ms. Genelle if you wish to help.

If you have not had a conference with me to review your child's progress to date, I will be contacting you to set up a time to meet with you.

After school care will be in Ms. Jenniffer's classroom this week.

Keep practicing the popcorn letters or words with your child. Everything you need is in your child's Bee Book.

Thank you to those of you who have sent in the wipes. We still need more of the Clorox or Lysol disinfectant wipes. We use tons of these with the computer and language master. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Our class blog address is http://msgenellesamclass.blogspot.com/. Pleasse check it out!

This Friday is ice cream Friday! You will need to send $.50 in the money pouch of your child's Bee Book for the ice cream. Several of you have already sent money in for your child.

On Fridays we will be sending nap blankets, etc., home so you can wash them and send them back each Monday. We are going to try keeping the water bottles at school during the week and send them home on Fridays as well.

If you need to contact me, please email me at genelle.jones@glasgow.kyschools.us or call me at school at 659-0432 after 1:00. If you call at any other times during the school day, please leave a message with the office staff. Speaking to parents is always a priority, however my time when the children are at school is devoted to meeting their needs in the classroom. I will return your calls as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
